Who is the person that walks your dogs?
My name is Georgina Bishopp and I am 21 year old currently living, studying and volunteering in Canterbury, Kent. I set up Paws in Hand Pet Services when I was studying for my GCSEs at college, combining my love of animals with my need for a job. Now I am at University studying Animal Science with Care and Management, which has provided me with increased knowledge and skills on how to handle, work with and understand all animals. Couple this with my work at Debdale Grange Boarding Kennels and Cattery (Leicester, Smeeton Westerby), and my 300+ hours volunteering with local organisations, such as the Tree Tops Animal Rescue, I have gained even more hands on experience with dogs, cats and many more, in particular those that have little or negative human experiences.
Working with animals has been a life long dream, and I plan to fulfil and further this dream with every decision I make with regards to my academics and the experiences I gain. I have so far worked with hundreds of dogs, with breeds ranging from Staffordshire Bull Terriers, American Bull Dogs, Rottweilers and Mastiffs, to Labradors, Border Collies, West Highland Terriers, Jack Russell Terriers, Huskies, Malamutes, Newfoundlands, Whippets, Lurchers - you name it, I've worked with it or studied it in some form or another! And I just hope to work with many more.
I am no expert in dog training, however I am very knowledgable in behaviour. My main experiences are with helping to build relationships and bonds with animals, alongside socialisation, so if you have recently taken on a rescue then please do tell me when I begin walking or sitting your dog. I can help to socialise and help your dog to settle in, as well as gain understanding of basic commands (sit, stay, recall etc) - if you need that help.
If you feel I may be able to give your dog the exercise or care you currently cannot provide, for whatever reason, then do not hesitate to get in touch. I look forward to hearing from you!
